Movie Review: The Green Hornet; 2011 (Leave Comments!!!)

(Rating - C)

Action/Comedy reboot of the TV Series starring a "slimmer" Seth Rogen as Britt Reid a young heir to his fathers huge newspaper and millions! His father is mysteriously killed and as he makes a friend in Kato (Jay Chou) a guy that makes a great cup of coffee and has a few secrets. Britt never knew of his fathers daily work or what he was really interested in. The movie builds the story of the Green Hornet as the two guys that were just having a lot of fun and then end up going toe-to-toe with LA's head crime boss "Chudnofsky" (Lame.. I know) played by Christoph Waltz. The film veers away from being about the crime fighting duo just taking out the evil doers to a love triangle comedy with our heroes and Cameron Diaz. It was cute but I feel like I was always waiting for the action to take place!!! The main crime boss was lame and so were the fight sequences! With a drawing reference to Bruce Lee the only REAL reference or connection to a once great crime-fighting duo! I enjoyed the funny cameo from Edward Furlong (Terminator 2-John Conner; Detroit Rock City) as a Meth Lab boss. The film was hyped up and didn't own up to the expectations G.H. fans are wanting OUT of this reboot! However, I must say all dissing the movie aside....I thoroughly enjoyed the laughs and the comedy in the film was great! Better than some "comedy" movies that have come out!
