MOVIE REVIEW: The Sorcerer's Apprentice! (LEAVE COMMENTS!!!)

Sorcerer Balthazar Blake (Nicholas Cage) and apprentice of the great Merlin has traveled for over 1000 years looking for the one to bring balance to the force! LOL! No but seriously he is looking for the child that will be chosen by Merlins dragon ring to equal out the good and evil in magic. After the death of Merlin, Baltazars and his partner Veronica(Monica Bellucci) battle the most evil Morgana and trap her inside a Ern-like asian doll. As Balthazar (Damn I hate typing his name!) travels for centuries trapping the most evil sorcerer's a child by the name of Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel) stumbles into his shop.

A fight starts as Dave releases an apprentice turned evil sorcerer named Horvath (Alfred Molina aka Dr. Octopus). The two do battle and Balthazar traps them in a magic vase for 10 years. As you can imagine this leaves Dave scarred for life and kind of an outcast. Fast forward 10 years later to Dave now in his twenties and a Physics genius just trying to be a regular guy and get that girl that he wants so bad!

The movie continues in a Magic "Karate Kid" kind of fashion and Disney delivers in awesome effects and funny comedy! I enjoyed the plot and comic relief throughtout the story! I think it was predictable (as most action Disney movies) but still greatly entertaining! If youre looking for entertainment and not a serious Oscar worthy action-drama then this is a great recommendation!

I thought the movie was great! I give it a 4 out of 5 Merlin circles!!!
